Mindscapes is a graphic animated diary that captures the fleeting images within the artist’s mind, transforming thoughts, emotions, and memories into architecturally intricate maps.

Composed of 31 digital artworks derived from hand- made pen sketches, the project is influenced by Indian Warli paintings, Aboriginal art, and the visual language of electronic music videos. Inspired by Madeleine de Scudéry’s Carte de Tendre, Mindscapes charts the geography of love, visualizing the word “LOVE” through encrypted algorithms and character encoding systems such as ASCII and binary code. These patterns become abstract visual sequences, translating emotion into data and bridging ancient symbolism with digital aesthetics.

At the heart of Mindscapes is Valeria’s research on time. Her work stems from experiments with video loops, driv- en by the need to synthesize and store movement—both external and mental—into memory. Geometry, repeti- tion, and stylized figures decode the mind’s maze. The soundtrack by Italian composer Angelo Di Guglielmo, blending crackling wood and electronic soundscapes, bridges nature and technology, inviting viewers into a meditative reflection on perception, rhythm, and identity.
